Godson's HotelWe moved on to our next stop, Godson's Hotel (now dental clinics and solicitors offices). The owner of this Hotel went bankrupt. At that time there was no street leading down past the Post Office and any visitors to the town automatically went first to Kearney's Hotel (town centre).
Mr. Godson decided to cut through a huge rock to make a " new line" to his hotel and it cost him "an arm and a leg" and that was the end of his business. That story is known as "Godson's Folly.
