It all started by a visit of one of last years sixth class pupils, on the same day that the details of the MiWadi competition arrived in the post.
We were determined there and then, not just to take part but to do our best to put last years project in the shadows. Because Bantry is situated by the sea and because our bay is one of the finest and deepest in the world, we thought it would be adventurous and exciting to explore the harbour including the islands on the inner harbour.

We decided to take in 200 years of history, and having done a little research we discovered that Wolfe Tone Square was indeed once part of Bantry Bay. Therefore "Bantry Bay to the Present Day" was voted by the class as the most appropriate title for our project. We hope you will enjoy "surfing" through our waterway of knowledge.
